Though it’s known for being one of the most scenic beaches in Costa Rica, Manzanillo is actually a quiet fishing town. If you plan on visiting, be sure to do so in early Spring, around March or April: it’s when the town holds their famous sand-castle building contest, followed by partying, drinking and dancing the night away under the beautiful moon!
